Cookie policy

Last updated · 25 May 2026

The short version: this site uses no analytics cookies, no marketing cookies, no tracking pixels, and no fingerprinting.

The slightly longer version is below.

What we don't do

The studio has made a deliberate choice not to use:

  • Google Analytics, Plausible, Fathom, or any other analytics service.
  • Marketing pixels (Meta, X, TikTok, LinkedIn, etc.).
  • Cross-site trackers of any kind.
  • A/B testing that segments users.

If a visit ever needs to be measured, it'll be done with server-side log counts, anonymised at the source.

What might be set

The only cookies that may be present are strictly necessary ones:

  • A short-lived session cookie from the hosting/CDN layer to keep the

site responsive and protect against abuse.

  • A possible session token if you log into a future studio-account

area (none exists today).

These don't require consent under UK/EU cookie law because they're essential to the basic operation of the site.

Embedded third-party content

A few pages embed or link to third-party services:

  • Verge beta site (verge.calmhqstudio.com) is a separate site with

its own privacy practices.

  • Buy Me a Coffee / Ko-fi / Stripe payment links open external pages

with their own cookies — only set if you click through and visit them.

  • Lucide icons + fonts are served from the same origin as the site.

Where possible, the studio avoids embedding third-party iframes that would set cookies on this site.

Local storage

The site may use a small amount of localStorage to remember things like whether you've dismissed a notice. That's stored only in your browser and is never sent back to a server.

Changes

If this ever changes — e.g. introducing privacy-respecting analytics — the policy will be updated, and the change announced in the journal and the newsletter before it takes effect.
